June 1, 2026. That's when GB 18580-2025 kicked in. E0 grade became the floor. ENF grade (formaldehyde emission ≤0.025mg/m³) became the dividing line.

We didn't publish a press release on June 1. We wanted two months of real production data first.

The Short Answer

26

Over the past two months, we sampled 312 batches of board material. All ENF grade. Not "submitted for testing" - sampled. There's a difference.

Here's the open secret in this industry: most environmental reports are commissioned submissions. You pick the best batch, the best sample, send it to a lab, and the report looks great. But national quality inspection bureau sampling is different. No notice. No appointment. They walk into your warehouse and take samples.

Kebao Boloni is the only company in China's home furnishing industry that signs an environmental commitment letter. It's a legal document: if a customer tests formaldehyde above standard after installation, we refund in full. We sign it because we trust every board.

ENF Board vs. ENF Cabinet: The Difference Nobody Talks About

Here's what most buyers miss: board-level ENF and finished-product ENF are not the same thing.

An 18mm laminate board leaves the factory at ≤0.025mg/m³ formaldehyde. Great. But turn that board into a cabinet? The edge banding adhesive, the cam lock connectors, even the glue on the hinge backplate - every step adds something.

So we did something most manufacturers don't: we control the entire chain, from board to finished product.

Specifically:

Edge banding: PUR hot melt adhesive, not standard EVA. PUR has near-zero formaldehyde release and better heat resistance - it won't separate at 60°C kitchen temperatures.

Connectors: 3-in-1 cam locks with 12mm small-hole technology. No glue needed.

Sink cabinet: 16mm embossed aluminum sheet, fully moisture-proof structure. Not "moisture-resistant coating on board" moisture-proof - structural aluminum moisture-proof.

Stove cabinet base: Built-in ventilation holes for better gas combustion. Not for environmental testing - for real-world use. Incomplete combustion produces carbon monoxide. Formaldehyde's cousin.

Aluminum: The Underrated Eco Material

A 2026 industry report has a data point worth noting: an aluminum-frame moisture-resistant storage cabinet sold 430,000 units in a single month on Shopee. A TikTok-famous aluminum-frame anti-termite cabinet moved 137,000 units.

What does this tell us? Consumers in humid, termite-prone regions - Southeast Asia, the Middle East, coastal cities - aren't waiting for manufacturers to catch up. They're buying aluminum.

But here's the problem: many Chinese exporters make rough aluminum cabinets. Why? Because aluminum requires different equipment and processes. A factory built for wood can't just switch to aluminum and maintain quality.

We have 5 production bases. One is dedicated to aluminum products. Our H2 series uses L-shaped aluminum frame construction. The H3 uses T-shaped aluminum frame construction. The aluminum front edge strip is treated with titanium-aluminum alloy anodizing - waterproof, moisture-proof, fireproof, non-discoloring, non-rusting.

This isn't a new concept. We've been doing it for over a decade.

Three Questions for Importers
If you're sourcing cabinets in the second half of 2026, ask your supplier:

Is your ENF report from submission testing or random sampling?
What's the formaldehyde emission of your finished product - not your board? If they can't answer, they're controlling the board but not the finished cabinet.
Is your sink cabinet aluminum or coated board? Coatings wear. Aluminum doesn't.
Environmental compliance isn't a selling point. It's a baseline. Suppliers below the baseline don't deserve your RFQ.
